Ready For Baby?

Monday, Monday! Most weeks I don’t think much about the fact that we’re starting another work week, but it really hit me this weekend that Neal and I are going to have a baby soon.  Today isn’t just any old Monday, it could possibly be my last Monday before baby, which is a little overwhelming.  Then again she could arrive after her September 8 due date, so you just never know!

Saturday night was when it all really hit me.  Around 8PM, after doing some laptop shopping during the day, Neal decided that he did indeed want to buy a particular laptop at Best Buy.  As the laptop was on sale, Neal and I jumped in our car to snag the sale price before prices changed Sunday morning.  We purchased the laptop, yay, and then grabbed some frozen yogurt before heading home.

There in the parking lot, while eating froyo on the trunk of our car, I realized that Neal and I won’t be able to do these late night excursions much longer.  It may seem like such a little thing, but I got sad.  I adore my relationship with Neal and I don’t think I’ve thought too much about how our relationship will change after we become parents.  Yes, they are changes we’ve wanted for a very long time, but I’m going to miss the little things.   I know the joys of having a child will quickly replace the thrills of being DINKS (dual income no kids), but now that it’s actually here, I’m nervous.

With the desire to cling to these last few days/weeks of it being just the two of us, Neal and I headed over to Bobby’s Burger Palace for a lunch date on Sunday.

Neal and I first visited Bobby’s Burger Palace the night we got engaged, but I really wasn’t all that focused on the food that night to be honest.

For lunch I ordered the New Mexico burger, which was topped with queso, green chilis, and pickled red onions, and a mint chocolate chip shake! Both the burger and the shake were really delicious!

Neal ordered the burger of the month, the Cheyenne, which was topped with smoked cheddar cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, and shoestring onion rings.

We also shared an order of fries, which were the bomb dot com!

It was really nice going out to lunch with Neal yesterday and though I know we’ll still get to enjoy plenty of moments like that after having our daughter, my hormonal self enjoyed every second of this past weekend!  Although there really isn’t anything I NEED to do before baby girl arrives, I do hope to take advantage of these last few quiet moments.  This weekend I…

1. Went to spin class

Spin Workout fit pregnancy

2.  Took a 3 hour nap

3.  Ran to Target by myself and bought coffee (I’ll let y’all know what I think about this coffee via Instagram)

Kettle Corn Coffee

4.  Bought some new things for the house at World Market (hello nesting)

5.  Made my favorite dinner, tacos

Mexican Food Dinner

If I have time this week, I also have a few things I’d love to do before the baby arrives…

1. Shave (ok, I actually really NEED to do this)
2. Get a pedicure
3. Enjoy a hot cup of coffee at Starbucks by myself
4. Go to the movies with Neal (Hundred-Foot Journey maybe)
5. Bake cookies

What’s your favorite thing to do by yourself?
